Your privacy matters

TradeNight is operated by Forge atelier numérique inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). We operate the live card trading platform at tradenight.club. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

We keep things straightforward: we collect what we need to run the platform, we don't sell your data, and we give you control where we can.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account.
Profile information: display name, handle, and any other details you choose to add to your public profile.
Card content: photos, descriptions, and details of cards you post during live events.
Trade activity: offers, counter-offers, messages in trade windows, and confirmed trade records.
Vouches and feedback: vouches you leave for other traders.
Communications: messages you send through the Platform's chat features, and emails or support requests you send to us.

Information collected automatically

Usage data: pages viewed, features used, timestamps, and actions taken on the Platform.
Device and browser data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, and device identifiers.
Cookies and similar technologies: we use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. See the "Cookies" section below.

Information from photos

When you upload card photos, we strip sensitive metadata (such as GPS coordinates) on our servers before storing or displaying the images. We may retain non-sensitive metadata (such as image dimensions and camera model) to improve display quality.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

Operate and improve the Platform, including the live room, trade windows, and reputation system.
Display your card posts, profile, trade records, and vouch history to other collectors as part of normal Platform operation.
Send you event notifications, trade confirmations, and other transactional communications.
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms of service.
Respond to your support requests.
Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve the Platform (we do not sell individual data).

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these situations:

With other collectors: your profile, card posts, trade records, and vouches are visible to other Platform users as part of normal operation.
Service providers: we use trusted third-party services for hosting, email delivery, image storage, and analytics. These providers only access data as needed to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable government request.
Safety: we may share information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of our users, the public, or TradeNight.
Business transfers: if TradeNight is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

Essential functions: keeping you signed in, remembering your session, and preventing cross-site request forgery.
Preferences: remembering your display preferences (such as light/dark mode).
Analytics: understanding how collectors use the Platform so we can improve it. We use privacy-respecting analytics and do not build advertising profiles.

Most browsers allow you to manage or block cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Platform from working correctly.

5. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Trade records and vouch history are kept permanently as part of the Platform's trust and accountability system, even if you close your account.

If you delete your account, we remove your personal profile information and de-identify your data where possible. Some information may be retained as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls on our infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your information (subject to the retention rules above).
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

8. Children's privacy

TradeNight is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

TradeNight is based in Canada. If you access the Platform from outside Canada, your information may be transferred to and processed in Canada. By using the Platform, you consent to this transfer. We take steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection regardless of where it is processed.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the Platform. The "effective date" at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent revision.
